About Emily Herzberg, MD

Emily M. Herzberg, MD is a Neonatologist at Mass-General Brigham and an Instructor at Harvard Medical School. She is the current Neonatal Director for the MGfC Fetal Care Program and the Chief of Neonatology at Salem Hospital. 

Her research is focused on neonatal neurocritical care, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, and neonatal neuromonitoring. She has led several neuromonitoring initiatives in the MGH NICU, including the introduction of amplitude-integrated electroencephalogram (aEEG) and currently has an NIH-NINDS R21 to use neuromonitoring to study cerebral metabolism in newborns with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.
