All blood donors can individually volunteer to donate either on the bloodmobile or
in the MGH Blood Donor Center.

The MGH Blood Donor Center also has 2 mobile units that can service your company, place of worship or civic organization.

To schedule a mobile drive at your company, please contact Kim Cronin at 617-726-8165. She will be happy to educate your staff, supply marketing materials, and make your drive a fun and friendly experience.

Our bloodmobiles are 40 feet, state of the art, completely self-contained and self-supporting busses. Your company does not need to provide inside space, tables chairs or day of drive assistance.

There are two soundproof medical history booths, four blood donation beds, plus a fifth bed for future growth and a refreshment area.

The bus comes staffed with a RN, phlebotomists, and/or LPN, and the driver.

MGH takes pride in keeping the total donation time down to approximately 30 minutes. The bloodmobile collects an average of 56 in a six-hour time frame. As many as 70 units of blood have been collected in that time frame.

Refreshments consisting of Fig Newtons, Oreos, Granola Bars, Chips Ahoy, Lorna Doones, Swiss Vanilla Cremes, Crackers, Peanut Butter Cookies and crackers, Cranberry, Apple, Orange, Tomato, and V-8 juices will be provided upon the donation of blood.

Businesses that are located in Boston and are too small to sponsor a blood drive on their own can come into our blood donor center to donate. When a company has a group of 3 or more donors at one time, our chauffer will drive the blood donors roundtrip to complete their donation. We can run as many trips a day or spread them out throughout the week.
