The Division of Surgical Oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital presents Advances in Surgical Oncology 2018. This 2-day course is structured to provide present surgeons with the most recent advances in cancer management in a manner that allows them to use the information in their surgical practices.

The course will cover the most recent and relevant information in surgical oncology regarding diagnosis and staging, surgical techniques, avoidance and management of complications, and adjuvant therapies.

Topics include:

  • Gastrointestinal malignancies
  • Breast cancer
  • Hepatobiliary malignancies
  • Melanoma/soft tissue sarcoma
  • Thyroid/endocrine malignancies


The course has been structured to provide more time for participants to interact with faculty through discussion of interesting cases, panel interactions, and surgical technique videos.

The course strives to integrate the most current surgical oncology concepts into clinical practice. Course attendees may immediately earn up to 15.75 Self-Assessment Credits toward Part 2 of the ABS MOC Program.
