Description:
The Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Course will review a wide range of intensive care issues, their diagnosis and management, including sepsis, ARDS, ECMO, ventilator management, and pulmonary issues such as lung transplantation, sleep apnea, asthma, lung cancer and more.

The Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine course is designed for pulmonary and critical care physicians, thoracic surgeons, general internists and health professionals with a particular interest in pulmonary and critical care medicine. Residents and fellows are invited to participate, and participants are local, regional, national and international.

Course ObjectivesAt the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Recall the pathophysiology of lung disease and critical illness, including key pathologic and radiologic features
  • Apply evidence from recent literature to clinical case management
  • Apply new clinical practice guidelines to improve patient outcomes
  • Utilize diagnostic and therapeutic tolls offered by specialists outside of the pulmonary and critical care medicine to optimally care for complicated patients
