Ian Y. Wong, PhD, of the Department of Surgery and BioMEMS Resource Center, is one of 18 nationwide recipients of the Damon Runyon Fellowship Award. The three-year award, presented by the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation, supports promising young scientists conducting basic and translational cancer research. Wong is sponsored by Department of Surgery and BioMEMS Resource Center colleagues Mehmet Toner, PhD, director of the BioMEMS Resource Center, and Daniel Irimia, MD, PhD. He is developing a new experimental platform for characterizing how cancer cells migrate in response to biochemical signals and 3-D structural architectures.
