More than 50 PCS employees were nominated for the seven annual awards presented during the ceremony. The awards recognize staff for excellence in a range of areas-including clinical skill, patient advocacy, leadership and mentorship.
Jeanette Ives Erickson, RN, MS, FAAN, senior vice president for Patient Care and chief nurse, welcomed the standing-room-only crowd of staff members, donors, award nominees and recipients, and their families, and discussed the high caliber of care provided by staff in the division. "Commitment is the key ingredient to providing the highest quality and safest patient care," said Ives Erickson. I continue to be overwhelmed by the dedication and passion of so many of our Patient Care Services employees."
With assistance from Gaurdia Banister, RN, PhD, executive director of The Institute for Patient Care, Ives Erickson went onto formally present the awards, sharing the background of and criteria for each award and describing the reasons the winners were selected.
