This week's "Bicentennial Corner" features a contest for MGH employees to guess the original name of the street shown in the two "then and now" photographs. One winner will be randomly selected from all entries for the chance to win a copy of the new MGH history book, "Something in the Ether: A Bicentennial History of Massachusetts General Hospital 1811 to 2011," by Webster Bull and Martha Bull. The winner will receive the book when it becomes available this spring.
Helpful hint: The top photo, circa 1916, shows the street that was once home to the hospital's laundry facilities and morgue. The photo on the bottom shows the same street today. What was the name of the street then?
MGHers can send their guesses to email@example.com.
