Lunder Building provides new pathways

The opening of the Lunder Building provides patients, visitors and employees the option of staying indoors while walking between the Yawkey and White buildings and offers a convenient route to and from the Charles Street/MGH Red Line MBTA station.

Traveling into the new building from the Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care, individuals can walk up the stairs or take the elevator to the second floor to reach the Kay and Martin Bander Bridge, which connects the Yawkey and Lunder buildings. The walkway is accessible daily from 6 am to 8 pm and after hours for those with approved card key access. Another new internal pathway will provide MGH clinical staff members a route for the transport of patients between the Wang Ambulatory Care Center’s new surgical intake center on floor 3, scheduled to open in 2012, and the Lunder Building procedure floors via a new clinical bridge above the main entrance. Authorized MGH staff also will be able to travel between the Lunder and the White and Ellison buildings on floor 2, supporting clinical functions.
