THE RED SOX FOUNDATION and Mass General Home Base Program is hosting the inaugural “Ride for Our Heroes,” a motorcycle ride to celebrate and benefit veterans in the Home Base program. The Ride for Our Heroes will take place Sept. 24 with six starting locations throughout New England and will end in Manchester, N.H., with a rider appreciation party, including a barbeque, live music, raffles, celebrities and photo opportunities with the 2004 and 2007 World Series trophies. In addition to the ride, the Home Base Program also is selling raffle tickets for a custom-built motorcycle by Dirico. The motorcycle is autographed by Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler and has a baseball-themed custom paint job.
