INFECTION PREVENTION: As part of Infection Prevention Week in October, members of the Infection Control Unit, the STOP (Stop the Transmission of Pathogens) Task Force and the infection control “tiger team” – made up of MGHers focused on regulatory compliance – staffed an information table in the Main Lobby. Joined by unit service associates Ronald Denejuste and Rosa Coreia, they distributed educational materials about hand hygiene, influenza, the correct use of gowns and gloves for contact precautions, and the importance of a clean environment of care. The display also included information about the “Wet is the New Clean” campaign. Above, Coreia talks with Patricio Gonzalez, medical interpreter in Interpreter Services, as Janet Hutchison, supervisor of Materials management, center, and Judy Tarselli, RN, Infection Control Unit, far right, look on.
