Spirit Halloween SuperStores representatives Dan Mathis and Philip Volonino presented the MassGeneral Hospital for Children (MGHfC) Child Life Department with a check for $22,015 on Feb. 27.

The company has donated a total of $86,000 to MGHfC since 2006 as part of its Spirit of Children Program, in which local stores collect donations for area hospital child life departments during the Halloween season. The program also sponsors a yearly Halloween party for MGHfC pediatric patients, which includes free costumes, magic tricks and face painting.

Previously, the money donated to MGHfC has been used for events and to purchase laptop computers, games and toys for pediatric patients.

“You guys are doing great work, and we’re just happy to do our part to help you,” said Mathis, Spirit’s northeast region zone manager.
