MGHfC hosts annual egg hunt

EGGCITEMENT: Henry shares a laugh with the Spring Bunny.

WEARING BUNNY EARS and sporting a fluffy white tail, Henry Geis, 3, was eager to get a closer look at the brightly colored plastic eggs that filled the bottom of his pillowcase during the MassGeneral Hospital for Children’s (MGHfC) annual Spring Egg Hunt. Once satisfied that he’d found his allotment of 20 goodie-filled eggs from the grounds of the Howard Ulfelder, MD, Healing Garden in the Yawkey Center, Henry lifted his head out of his bag and came face-to-face with the Spring Bunny. “Well, hi!” he yelled, laughing as the bunny quizzically pointed to his ears.

Henry was one of 30 children who participated in the April 5 event for pediatric patients and their siblings. After collecting their eggs – filled with mini-erasers, candy, Silly Bands and other goodies – the children headed to the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Outpatient Clinic to decorate cupcakes. The Spring Bunny also visited patients on Ellison 17 and 18, as well as the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
