The MGH is hosting a number of events May 3 to 9 in honor of Nurse Recognition Week:

  • “Chief Nurse Address” by Jeanette Ives Erickson, RN, DNP, FAAN, May 3 from 2 to 3 pm in the O’Keeffe Auditorium;
  • Yvonne L. Munn Nursing Research Award speeches May 4 from 10 to 11:30 am in the O’Keeffe Auditorium;
  • Staff nurse breakfast May 6 from 7 to 9 am and a reception May 9 from 3 to 4:30 pm both in the Trustees Room, Bulfinch 2;
  • “Caring for the Caregiver: Recognizing Compassion Fatigue and Developing Self-Care Skills” May 7 from 7:30 to 8:30 am and May 8 from 10 to 11 am in the O’Keeffe Auditorium with speaker Mary Susan Convery, MSW, LICSW, oncology social worker;
  • “Shaping the Future of Health Care through Innovation” May 7 from 1:30 to 2:30 pm in the O’Keeffe Auditorium with speaker Ellen-Marie Whelan, PhD, NP, RN, senior advisor for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Innovation Center;
  • “Take the T to Cultural Competence: Is the Red, Orange, Blue or Green Line Your Best Practice?” May 8 from 1:30 to 2:30 pm in the O’Keeffe Auditorium;
  • Interactive nursing research poster session May 9 from 10 am to noon in the O’Keeffe Auditorium Foyer; and
  • The 18th annual Yvonne L. Munn Nursing Research Lecture and awards presentations May 9 from 1:30 to 3 pm in the O’Keeffe Auditorium with speaker Jeffrey M. Adams, PhD, RN, nurse scientist, who will speak on “The Bucket List:  Advancing an International Research Agenda Using Administrative Data in the Evaluation of Leadership and Organizations.”
