Expo highlights global health initiatives

GLOBAL HEALTH EXPO: Attendees visit one of many information tables during the MGH Global Health Expo.

Near record-high temperatures in Boston couldn’t keep the crowd away from the inaugural MGH Global Health Expo held June 21 under the protective shade of the Bulfinch Tent. Sponsored by the MGH Center for Global Health, the event featured representatives from more than 20 groups who spoke to staff, friends and neighbors about global health programs, initiatives and ways to get involved in the field.

“MGH has a rich tradition of global health outreach,” says David Bangsberg, MD, MPH, director of the Center for Global Health. “This event brought together so many of our most passionate and talented individuals, and it really showcased the diversity of our projects around the world. The center’s goal is to help support and facilitate the MGH community’s global health initiatives and events like these not only highlight that work, but provide information to our community about how to get involved and carry on the tradition.”
