Honoring the Primary Care community

INCREDIBLE INDIVIDUALS: The Portraits in Primary Care display in the White Lobby

“Omar Mohamed is the heart and soul of our practice,” wrote a colleague who nominated Mohamed, a medical assistant at MGH Beacon Hill, for this year’s Portraits in Primary Care series. “Whether he is ensuring that we are up-to-date on new clinical laboratory procedures, helping in a pinch or lightening the mood with a quick quip, Omar always seems to be in the right place at the right time.”

The biannual series, created by the Stoeckle Center for Primary Care Innovation, honors 12 members of the MGH Primary Care community this year. Honorees were nominated and selected for “contributions made to primary care in a remarkable way, every day.” Posters featuring a photograph of each honoree and excerpts from nominations are on display in the White Lobby, opposite Coffee Central, until Nov. 2. The posters also can be viewed online at www.massgeneral.org/stoecklecenter.

In addition to Mohamed, the honorees are: Lisa Brugnoli-Semeta, RN, nurse manager, MGH Back Bay; Nancy Cibotti Granof, MD, Bulfinch Medical Group; Camila N. Da Silva, RN, MGH Chelsea HealthCare Center; Amy G. Fogelman, MD, MGH Beacon Hill; David Harrison, MD, Everett Family Care; Jane Maffie-Lee, MSN, FNP-BC, Ambulatory Practice of the Future; Eileen McAdams, RN, FNP, MGH Charlestown HealthCare Center; Bernice McField-Avila, MD, MHM, primary care access coordinator, Emergency Department, Partners Community Health; Diana A. Palmer, MD, MPH, MGH Revere HealthCare Center, Pediatrics; Vilany Rodriguez, patient service coordinator, MGH Chelsea HealthCare Center; and Kate Treadway, MD, Internal Medicine Associates.
