MGH Blood Donor Center plans to temporarily relocate

Framed photographs of memorable moments and smiling faces of people who have made immeasurable contributions line a wall in the MGH Blood Donor Center. Now, surrounding the snapshots are the names and recollections of even more donors who have made a difference in the lives of MGH patients throughout the years.
“This is an incredible place because over the years each and every person who walked through this door did so with the intention of saving other people’s lives. Thank you!” one remembrance notes.
The MGH Blood Donor Center is in the process of inviting all donors, and those who have a personal connection to the center, to add their names and memories to the wall in the weeks leading up to its temporary relocation to the 12th floor of the White Building. The move is slated to take place April 1 while its current home in the Gray Building undergoes renovations.
“Once the renovations are complete, we will move back to our main location,” says Meredith Wentworth, marketing specialist. “We really want to stress that this is a temporary relocation and we will remain open and committed to providing a safe and adequate blood supply for our patients.”
