NASCAR driver Joey Gase, second from left, made a pit stop at the MGH inpatient organ transplant unit July 11. The 20-year-old Gase is a vocal advocate for Donate Life America, a national organization dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of organ donation. Joined by representatives from New England Organ Bank, Gase met with Parsia Vagefi, MD, of Transplant Surgery, left, and visited with patients, including Tony Doucette and his girlfriend Doreen Carbone, before competing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
