The Red Sox Foundation and MGH Home Base Program will host a “Mission Gratitude” benefit concert on Sept. 23, featuring performances by country music and comic legends as well as upcoming artists.
The largest benefit concert in New England to support wounded warriors will take place at Boston Symphony Hall. Performers include The Band Perry, Big & Rich, “Saturday Night Live” comedians Darrell Hammond and Cassadee Pope, Sarah Silverman, The Henningsens, Angie Johnson and actress and singer Rita Wilson. In addition, Pulitzer-Prize-winning author Doris Kearns Goodwin and Red Sox legends Pedro Martinez and Tim Wakefield will appear at the concert.
Mission Gratitude, presented by State Street Corporation, will raise funds for the Home Base Program, which helps Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and their families recover from combat- or deployment-related stress and traumatic brain injury through clinical care, education and research.
