John Hancock Financial Services has donated 100 bibs for the race. Last year’s team raised $950,780 for the Hematology-Oncology Department at MassGeneral Hospital for Children, and this year the team aims to raise $1 million.
Every year, starting in December, the MGH offers runners tips about raising funds and preparing for the 26.2-mile course. This year the team has joined forces with Dan Fitzgerald, co-founder and CEO of the South End Athletic Company and the Heartbreak Hill Running Company, who will offer training and nutrition advice and sponsor group runs. The Mass General Sports Performance Center also will offer a concierge phone line for questions about training and injuries. For more information, visit www.massgeneral.org/marathon.
