A team of six MGH staff members arrived in the Philippines earlier this week and will be based at a hospital in Tapaz, a city on the island of Panay. They will focus on primary care and reproductive health while deployed with Project Hope. The team left the U.S. on Nov. 30 and is scheduled to return Dec. 20. This is the second MGH team to be deployed to the Philippines to support recovery efforts following one of the largest typhoons on record. On Nov. 17, seven staff members traveled to Cebu, Central Visayas, with the International Medical Corps. They are expected to return to Boston Dec. 8.
