A silver lining in Sochi
Anne Holland “Holly” Johnson, MD, a foot and ankle surgeon in the MGH Department of Orthopædic Surgery and U.S. Women’s Olympic Hockey Team doctor, at center, savors her final days in Sochi, Russia. “It was amazing,” says Johnson. “The Olympic environment was so positive, everybody was in good spirits and excited to be there, and I got to meet so many amazing athletes. Being at the Olympics as part of Team USA and having a role and taking part in the games was such an incredible experience. The loss to Canada in the gold medal game was heartbreaking, but the players did great. I was so proud of them. It would have felt better to come home with gold, but I would do it again in a heartbeat.”
With Johnson, herself a former Harvard University hockey star, are two members of the Olympic team wearing their silver medals, Michelle Picard, left, and Lyndsay Fry, both Harvard University undergraduates.
