The Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare and the Conference on Boston Teaching Hospitals will host “Boston Marathon Caregivers One Year Later: Moving Forward with Healing and Renewed Compassion,” a series of special sessions for hospital staff, first responders and medical tent volunteers.

‘Boston Marathon Caregivers One Year Later’

The Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare and the Conference on Boston Teaching Hospitals will host “Boston Marathon Caregivers One Year Later: Moving Forward with Healing and Renewed Compassion,” a series of special sessions for hospital staff, first responders and medical tent volunteers.

These confidential sessions will bring together caregivers who treated patients injured in last year’s Boston Marathon attacks. Experienced Schwartz Center Rounds facilitators will help manage and process feelings that may occur with the upcoming Boston Marathon on April 21. This special set of Schwartz Center Rounds is not hospital-specific, and caregivers are invited to attend any or all of the five sessions in Boston. Registration is required.

The session at the MGH will take place March 28 from 8 to 9:30 am in the Their Conference Room. It will be facilitated by Beth Lown, MD, medical director ofThe Schwartz Center.

Other sessions will be held:

•  March 12 from 4:30 to 6 pm at the Inn at Longwood Medical, Longwood Hall, 342 Longwood Ave. This session will be led by Chris Carter, PsyD, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.

•  March 20, 8 to 9:30 am at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, 93 Worcester Street, Wellesley. This session will be led by Sally Okun, RN, PatientsLikeMe.

•  April 3, 8 to 9:30 am at the Inn at Longwood Medical, The Fenway Room, 342 Longwood Ave. This session will be led by Carol Mostow, LICSW, Department of Family Medicine at Boston Medical Center.

•  April 9, 6 to 7:30 pm at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel, Terrace Room, 50 Park Plaza, Arlington St. This session will be led by Carol Mostow, LICSW, Department of Family Medicine at Boston Medical Center.
