Judith Edersheim is a graduate of Brown University, Harvard Law School, and Harvard Medical School and served as a law clerk to the Hon. Robert W. Sweet in the Federal District Court in Southern District of New York. Dr. Edersheim practiced trial and corporate law with the Boston law firm of Hill and Barlow and is a member of the bar of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She did her adult psychiatry residency at the Cambridge Hospital and completed forensic fellowship training at the Law and Psychiatry Service of Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Edersheim is licensed to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, with Added Qualifications in Forensic Psychiatry.
Dr. Edersheim performs a broad range of psychiatric evaluations in criminal and civil forensic settings. She has previously lectured in many areas of forensic psychiatry, including subjects such as informed consent to medical treatment, psychiatric malpractice claims, liability and risk management in the prescription of psychotropic medications, the psychiatric evaluation of violent patients and the assessment of emotional damages. Dr. Edersheim is a principal lecturer in the fellowship training seminars and adult psychiatry residency forensic seminars at Massachusetts General Hospital. She is member of the American Psychiatric Association, the Massachusetts Psychiatric Society and the Academy of Organizational and Occupational Psychiatry. She is also a member of several public sector mental health and non-profit boards of directors, including the Massachusetts Mental Health Legal Advisors Committee and the Board of Governors of Tel Aviv University. |
