FacultyXiaoduo Fan, MD, MSxfan@partners.org Dr. Xiaoduo Fan is a Clinical Assistant at the Massachusetts General Hospital Schizophrenia Program and an Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. In addition, he is Associate Director of the Schizophrenia, Diabetes & Weight Reduction Research Program at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Fan received his medical degree from Peking University in Beijing, China. He also earned a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago. Dr. Fan completed his Psychiatry residency training at the State University of New York in Buffalo before he joined the Schizophrenia Program at MGH. Dr. Fan’s research interests focus on medical comorbidity of schizophrenia, as well as innovative treatment strategies for negative and cognitive symptoms. He is currently developing a series of studies to systematically explore the mechanisms of antipsychotic-induced metabolic disturbances from different perspectives: 1) environmental and behavioral factors; 2) neuro-endocrine-immune integration; 3) genetic polymorphism. At the same time, he would like to examine the association between metabolic dysfunction and therapeutic response in patients with schizophrenia. Dr. Xiaoduo Fan has received several awards, including APA/Program for Minority Research Training in Psychiatry Fellowship, APA/Janssen Research Scholars Award, and NIMH Outstanding Resident Award.« Previous Page |
