Jennifer Gottlieb, PhD is a clinical psychologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital Schizophrenia Program and an Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Gottlieb completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Spanish at American University in Washington, D.C. and earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Montana. She completed her Clinical Internship at the University of California – San Diego Department of Psychiatry/San Diego VA Healthcare System, with an emphasis on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions for psychosis, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders.
Dr. Gottlieb’s research and clinical work has been devoted to the development and implementation of effective psychosocial rehabilitation strategies for individuals with psychosis. Currently, Dr. Gottlieb's research focuses on the development and provision of effective CBT treatments for psychotic disorders, with particular emphasis on interventions aimed at augmenting the benefits of CBT for delusions. In addition, Dr. Gottlieb's studies attempt to better understand predictors of treatment engagement in individuals who are experiencing their first episode of psychosis as well as implement CBT interventions with this population. She is also involved in research related to cognitive-behavioral smoking cessation treatments for people with schizophrenia.
