Welcome to the MGH/McLean Residency Training Program in Psychiatry. The Massachusetts General Hospital includes both the General Hospital in downtown Boston and the McLean Hospital in Belmont, Massachusetts. MGH is the oldest voluntary, nonprofit hospital in New England and the third oldest in the United States. Additionally, it is the first and largest teaching hospital affiliated with the Harvard Medical School.

As the hospital's founders stated in 1811, the MGH has three primary objectives: caring for the sick, teaching those who are responsible for that care and researching the causes and control of disease. Nearly 200 years later, this mission continues as we pursue excellence in clinical care, teaching and research.
