Multidisciplinary Clinic and Chief of
Neurology

Welcome to the Mass General ALS Website! This site was developed in the hope of helping others understand what ALS is, how it is diagnosed, what research we and others are doing to understand ALS and develop better treatments, and how we at Mass General address some of the important issues that are related to the disease. It is our hope that this site will offer viewers information that will enable you to maintain control over the issues that might affect your life and to have a greater understanding of approaches to ALS’s medical management. We hope to bring many of these common issues about ALS to one site so that people with ALS, family members and friends can learn about the issues that concern them.

Our ALS Multidisciplinary Clinic offers expertise in this rare disease to patients, families, and other medical professionals. The clinic is supported by the Muscular Dystrophy Association and through the generous support of individual contributions to our Mass General ALS clinic and research fund which focuses on patient care improvements.

We hope your experience on this site helps to inform, providing you with the information you need to make good decisions about ALS. It is our pleasure to serve you.

Sincerely,
Merit Cudkowicz, MD, MSc
