The Benson-Henry Institute offers a diverse array of programs for many different populations, including our Relaxation Response Resiliency Program, Successful Aging Program, Cardiac Wellness Program and Health and Fertility Program.... just to name a few!

Upcoming Programs


New program series at the Benson-Henry Institute (BHI) are beginning soon. All of the BHI programs treat people who are experiencing medical symptoms related to stress, ranging anywhere from headaches and gastrointestinal distress to infertility and chronic pain.

Relaxation Response and Resiliency Program (3RP)The 3RP is an 8-week program is designed to teach patients a variety of mind body skills to help decrease medical symptoms, manage stress and build resilience. The series is taught by Peg Baim, NP and Leslee Kagan, MS, NP.

Upcoming program series will take place:    

Thursdays from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at BHI beginning 5/30/2013
Tuesdays from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at BHI beginning 6/18/2013
Wednesdays from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at MGH West beginning 6/12/2013 

Cardiac Wellness ProgramThe 13-week Cardiac Wellness Program offered at MGH West in Waltham is a nationally recognized program that includes monitored exercise, individual nutrition counseling and mind/body skills to better manage stress. This program is specifically designed for patients with hypertension, diabetes, arrhythmias or heart disease. The program is directed by Aggie Casey, MS, RN.

Groups are held during the following times:

Mondays from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Tuesdays from 12:00 – 3:00 pm
Thursdays from 5:00 – 8:00 pm
Mondays from 12:15 pm – 3:15 pm
Dr. Benson and a patient(Graduate Program)

Mind Body Program for WomenThis clinical program is similar to the Relaxation Response and Resiliency Program, but created specifically for women. The curriculum is designed to teach women a variety of mind body skills and interventions to decrease medical symptoms and build resilience. The series is taught by Leslee Kagan, MS, NP.

The next program series will take place:

Mondays from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at BHI beginning on 2/4/2013

Successful AgingThis 9-week program is specifically designed for people who are 65 years of age and older.  The program teaches participants mind body skills to cope with the harmful effects of stress, as well as tools needed to age with wisdom, health, humor and gratitude. The program is taught by Ann Webster, PhD.

Mind Body Program for CancerThis program is a 10-week program designed to supplement the medical treatment of cancer patients by giving them tools to cope with the stress of their illness, make informed choices about treatment, and maintain hope. The program is taught by Ann Webster, PhD.

The next program series will take place:

Mondays from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at BHI beginning Spring 2013

Mind Body Program for Health and FertilityThis groundbreaking program has helped hundreds of women and couples through their struggles with infertility. The 8-week program teaches women how they can regain a sense of control and well-being, develop coping strategies, better manage treatments, and optimize their chances for success. The series is taught by Leslee Kagan, MS, NP.

The next program series will take place:

Thursdays from 5:00 - 7:00 pm beginning on 6/10/2013

Taking Care of OurselvesYogaThis four-week wellness program for women teaches participants self-care skills to help them cope with the stress in their daily lives to leave them with a renewed sense of control and well-being. The series is taught by Leslee Kagan, MS, NP. Please contact Maureen Gilbert to register.

The next program series will take place:

Tuesdays from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at Yawkey beginning on 7/16/2013

-Before entering our clinical programs, all patients are required to see a BHI Mind Body physician for an initial assessment. This appointment is billable to insurance.

-Some of our mind body group programs are billable to health insurance and other programs are self pay.
