| A Message from the Chief of the MGH Burn Center
"
With immediate accessibility to the expertise of the entire MassGeneral, there is no specialty service we can't provide or any problem we can't handle. With our closerelationship with the Shriners Hospital for Children, we can keep a family in crisis together and lessen the strain geographically during a very difficult time. Our case managers and social workers, once the crisis has passed, begin to look for resources within the home community which will offer care and support upon discharge. We fully realize the importance of good communication between us, the referring faculty and family physician. Many of us on staff keep active politically and educationally to raise awareness of the importance of having an interconnected, community-based, medical support system that comes seamlessly together when burn injury occurs."
