Shawn P. Fagan, MD, medical director of the Sumner Redstone Burn Center at Massachusetts General Hospital, presents on Mass General’s TeleHealth program, its relevance within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and his vision of a TeleICU.
Dr. Fagan received his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from the University of Southern California in 1989 and graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas in 1994. Following the completion of his residency program at the DeBakey Department of Surgery, Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Fagan went on to be a full-time faculty member. His interest in critical care medicine resulted in a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Outside of his clinical interests, Dr. Fagan is also interested in research, specifically microfluidics as well as telemedicine. Dr. Fagan joined the Division of Burns in August 2006 and was named the Medical Director of the Sumner Redstone Burn Center in 2008.
