According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, HPV is the most common sexually transmitted virus in the United States. Most people who become infected with HPV do not know they have it. HPV infection can lead to serious illnesses including head and neck and gynecologic cancers. Fortunately, there are several ways to lower the risk of becoming infected. Join our specialists, David Boruta, MD, Kathryn Brigham, MD and James McIntyre, MD, to learn more about the risks associated with contracting HPV. We will discuss the connection between risky behaviors and cancer and why it is important to address the risk in the adolescent and early adulthood years.
