Mass General Hospital Award in Cancer Research presented to James P. Allison, PhD
Award in Cancer Research
As part of the Center for Cancer Research 25th Anniversary Research Symposium on June 6th, James P. Allison, PhD, was awarded the 8th Massachusetts General Hospital Award in Cancer Research, in memory of Nathan and Grace Shiff.
Professor Allision is the Chair of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Department of Immunology Platform, and it deputy director of the David H. Koch Center for Applied Research in Genitourinary Cancer, Department of Genitourinary Medical Oncology Research.
Professor Allison was also the keynote speaker at the symposium, giving a presentation entitled "Immune Checkpoint Blockade in Cancer Therapy: New Insights and Opportunities".
