The New England Journal of Medicine publishes Matthew Smith, MD, PhD's study on bone density treatment for prostate cancer patients
The New England Journal of Medicine recently published the work of Matthew Smith, MD, PhD, on bone density treatment for men undergoing hormone deprivation therapy for prostate cancer. The report from an international research study with over 900 participants led by Smith, shows that a new therapy called denosumab cuts fracture risks for prostate cancer survivors. "The results of this study should be critically important in improving the quality of life of thousands of prostate cancer survivors," says Smith.
