Side View of Pelvis

  • Side view of Female Pelvis cut in half to show Female Reproductive organs (uterus, cervix, vagina, ovaries, and fallopian tubes).
  • The urinary Bladder is in front of the uterus.  Urine passes to the outside through a narrow tube called the urethra.
  • The rectum is behind the uterus.  Waste (feces) passes to the outside through the anus.
  • The cervix is the lower end of the uterus that extends into the vagina.  It has an opening that connects the uterine cavity with the vagina.
  • Urinary and reproductive organs are close together in the pelvis.
  • Rectum and large intestine are nearby.
