through the chest, across the diaphram, and ends where it joins the
stomach.
- The esophagus and the trachea are close together in the upper part
of the chest.
- After the trachea divides into the right and left bronchi, the esophagus
is no longer near the breathing system.
- The diaphram separates the chest from the abdomen.
