Vertebral Augmentation

Vertebral augmentation is a percutaneous procedure in which bone cement is injected into the vertebral body with the primary purpose of relieving pain or disability and a secondary purpose of achieving structural support. Often, patients are treated with the aid of a balloon system specifically designed for vertebral augmentation.

Patients are seen and evaluated in our outpatient clinic setting. During the initial visit they will meet with members of our team to review their imaging studies, undergo a brief physical exam and discuss treatment options. These procedures are often performed on an outpatient basis.
