Scientific Advisory Committee meeting and Celebration of Science

06/Feb/2009

The MGH community is invited to attend the annual Celebration of Science Feb. 11 and the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting Feb. 12. The Celebration of Science begins with a poster session from 11 am to 1:45 pm in the Simches Research Center on the second floor. Then MGH investigators Jeanine Weiner-Kronish, MD; Bruce Walker, MD; Ralph Weissleder, MD, PhD; Daniel Haber, MD, PhD; and Mehmet Toner, PhD, will discuss their research at 2:15 in the Simches Center Conference Room 3100.

The theme of the SAC meeting -- which begins at 8 am also in the Simches Center in Conference Room 3100 -- is "The MGH Biomedical Research Engine: Structure and Resources to Harness the Power." Leaders of the MGH research community will discuss the hospital's current scientific resources, opportunities presented by the growing understanding of the impact of genetics on human disease, strategies for recruitment and retention of investigators and efforts to build philanthropic support. The full agenda for the two-day program is available online.
