According to the World Health Organization, the small South Asian nation of Bangladesh has made considerable progress in improving the health of its people, but challenges still remain. On June 8, the Bangladesh Minister of Health and Family Welfare, A. F. M. Ruhal Haque, MBBS, met with MGH staff members to discuss longstanding collaborations between Bangladesh health care services and various MGH departments – including the Center for Global Health; the Division of Infectious Diseases; Patient Care Services; and Vincent Obstetrics & Gynecology – as well as a new collaboration aimed at launching the country’s first bone marrow transplant program.
