Massachusetts General Hospital

Massachusetts General Hospital's Training and Workforce Development office offers a range of programs and services from English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses to a leadership academy to attract and retain a highly skilled, diverse workforce.

In addition to an annual college fair, career-development sessions and a tuition-assistance program that includes adult basic education and certificate programs, the hospital also offers the following:

English for Speakers of Other Languages

Mass General offers classes to help non-native English-speaking employees improve their communications skills and promote continued learning.

HR Course Offerings

Employees have the opportunity to learn new or improve existing skills such as conflict communication, project management and organization.

MGH Leadership Academy

The academy provides managers the information, resources and competencies to be effective leaders at Mass General.

Medical Terminology Classes

Mass General offers training to help employees understand medical terminology as related to the anatomy, physiology and pathology of the human body.

Spanish Language Classes

Beginner through intermediate level Spanish classes are offered to help employees enhance the experience of Spanish-speaking patients, their family members and visitors.

Support Service Employee Grants

Benefits-eligible hourly employees can apply for educational grants to advance their training and/or education.

The Association of Multicultural Members of Partners Scholarship

Each year members of the association are eligible to apply for scholarships to pursue undergraduate and graduate educational programs.
