MGH's Commitment

In fall 2007, the Trustees at MGH approved a new hospital mission statement that, for the first time, explicitly adds responsibility for improving the health of the community to the traditional mission of patient care, teaching and research.  The new mission statement is:

Guided by the needs of our patients and their families, we deliver the very best health care in a safe, compassionate environment, we advance that care through innovative research and education, and we improve the health and well-being of the diverse communities we serve.
