Welcome to
Cardiovascular Clinical Research
at
Massachusetts General Hospital

Cardiovascular Clinical Research seeks to improve clinical diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Studies are supported by government, industry or private grants. Research includes studies of new medications (including investigational drugs), studies of therapeutic devices e.g. new coronary artery stents, studies using new imaging techniques e.g. CT-Angiography, OCT., genetic studies and studies of biologic markers.

Overview

The primary objective of Cardiovascular Clinical Research is to support both junior and senior investigators throughout the clinical research process; from the conception of the idea, to writing grant proposals, acquiring statistical help, drafting contracts, and obtaining help with patient recruitment. Through collaborations among cardiologists and with investigators from other departments, we will create opportunities to bring different areas of research activity together through this network of support.

Monthly conferences provide a forum for discussion, giving investigators the opportunity to discuss their research with each other, so that physicians can keep abreast of the clinical research being performed. We hope to encourage an atmosphere of an open exchange of ideas, initiating dialogue within the cardiology community. It is our goal to facilitate collaboration.
