Through the Mass General Hospital health centers, the Hepatitis C Program works to improve clinical care and increase the understanding of HCV through provider and patient education, and community outreach activities.

The Hepatitis C Program provides identification, medical provider education and intensive follow-up services for patients in need of support to maintain the prescribed treatment.
Working in tandem with the lead physicians at MGH Charlestown and MGH Chelsea HealthCare Centers, the Hep C Outreach Workers organize and facilitate individual and group patient education sessions. The program also provides clinicians working at the health centers with Hep C educational materials and promotes Hepatitis awareness at various community health fairs.

2014 Outcome:

150 patients received evaluation, treatment, and/or outreach services.
