Violence is prevalent in our communities--and in the home--and creates profound health and mental health effects. MGH Chelsea sponsors a program that seeks to heal the trauma experienced by children who witness violence. Across the MGH system, the HAVEN program advocates for those experiencing abuse from their intimate partners. The Violence Intervention Advocacy Program, based at MGH's Emergency Department, helps violence victims recover from the physical and emotional trauma by empowering them with skills, services and opportunities so they can make positive changes in their lives and contribute to building safer and healthier communities.
