John the MGH Center for Community Health Improvement celebrate Mass General Hospital’s 200 years of Commitment to the Community
MGH Community Health CelebrationDate: 06/10/2011 - 06/10/2011
For 200 years Mass General has been committed to helping the poor and underserved. The care we provide goes further than treating injury and illness. We also endeavor to make the people in our communities healthier--those who have trouble or who can often not reach the walls of our institution. We do so by providing tailored services to help patients better access needed services and by addressing some of the toughest public health challenges of today, such as cancer, substance abuse and obesity through community-wide interventions.
In this spirit please join us to celebrate MGH’s 200 years of Commitment to Community Health on Friday, June 10, 2011 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. in Bulfinch Tent at Massachusetts General Hospital. Guest speakers for our Community Health Improvement celebration are Mass General CEO Peter Slavin, MD and Mass DPH Commissioner John Auerbach. There also will be a presentation of Mass General’s Bicentennial gift to the community.
Come see how your colleagues have been improving the health of the communities around us. Poster sessions take place at 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
