Dana-Farber/Partners Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Collaborative (BCSC)

The goal of BCSC 's Women's Health Network Program is to reduce breast and cervical cancer mortality through early detection. The program provides free breast and cervical cancer screening for women aged 40-64 who are uninsured or underinsured and low income. An eligibility exemption exists for women aged 21-39 with an abnormal breast or cervical screen and in need of diagnostic services to rule out cancer. In addition, women aged 65 and older are eligible if they are not eligible for Medicare or cannot afford Medicare part B. Services are delivered in 11 community health centers located in Greater Boston area. Each member health center provides breast and cervical cancer screening, diagnostic, and case management services to eligible women in their community. The program also provides expanded eligibility for Mass Health to women currently in treatment for breast or cervical cancer. Major funding for BCSC comes from the Mass Department of Public Health, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Partners HealthCare.
