Brightly colored cupcakes and soothing tea provided respite for MGHfC families, patients and staff on a blustery winter day on February 19. As a way to spread the word about the work of the MGHfC Family Advisory Council (FAC), the council hosted a Tea Time event on the Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units. The council is made up of staff and family members of patients who work together to improve and promote family-centered care. “Being on the FAC gives me the opportunity to interact with different departments in the hospital that I wouldn’t normally be able to,” says Darcy Daniels, who has recently rejoined the council.
The Family Advisory Council at MassGeneral Hospital for Children is dedicated to developing a positive partnership between parents, children and hospital staff to promote family-centered care.
