Dr. Pieretti has 39 years of experience in Pediatric Urology and Pediatric Surgery. He is Board Certified in General Surgery and Pediatric Surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He did a Fellowship in Pediatric Urology at Sick Kids Hospital, Toronto, Canada (1973-1974).

During  his  29 years of practice  in Caracas, Venezuela, Dr. Pieretti devoted most of his time and efforts to Pediatric Urology where he founded 3 services of Pediatric Surgery and Urology.Ten years ago he was recruited by the Massachusetts General Hospital and since then he has devoted 100% of his time to  the broad clinical spectrum of Pediatric Urology.

Dr. Pieretti's main area of research interest is in the field of  Pediatric Urology. He has ongoing clinical research work in surgical treatment of  hypospadias, congenital hydronephrosis,  and undescended testicles. At the present time he has a total of 12 clinical research projects.

  • Charlie's Story: Instilling Confidence Through a High Standard of Care

    Charlie Beecher's family described the first two years of his life as joyously normal until Charlie developed belly pain. When they found out it was cancer, the Beechers brought Charlie to the Francis H. Burr Proton Therapy Center, which helped Charlie return to his normal, happy childhood.
