Kerstin Zanger, MD, PhD, is a founding member of the division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at MGHfC. She currently serves as Co-Director of the division. After medical school, she came to Boston on an international scholarship and spent six years doing basic research on pituitary development in a pediatric endocrinology lab at Boston Children's Hospital. Over the past four years, Dr. Zanger has been part of the Partners eCare clinician team, which helped with the implementation of EPIC, the new electronic health record. Her clinical interests include complex medical care, newborn medicine, growth disorders, nutrition and family-centered care.
With the transition to electronic health records, each of the 16 divisions at MGHfC are now using data to drive efforts to improve patient care.
At the foot of every bed on the pediatric inpatient floors at MassGeneral Hospital for Children (MGHfC), watercolor trees sway in the wind and exotic animals come alive in brilliant brushstrokes. New artwork, created by students at the Waldorf School in Lexington, Mass., takes patients away from the hospital and into peaceful nature scenes and adventurous lands where animals roam.
