Dr. Lauren Allister, M.D. is an attending physician at the Massachusetts General Hospital Emergency Department where she specializes in pediatric emergency medicine. Dr. Allister is also an instructor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Lauren Allister graduated from SUNY-Downstate College of Medicine. After her residency in pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medical Center-New York Presbyterian Hospital, Dr. Allister completed a fellowship in emergency medicine at Boston Children's Hospital.
At MGH, Dr. Allister spends her non-clinical time devoted to education for the medical students and residents. She is the course director for the MGH advanced elective in pediatric emergency medicine through Harvard Medical School. She is the rotation director of emergency medicine for the pediatrics residency program at MGH. Dr. Allister teaches extensively in both pediatrics and emergency medicine residency programs and sits on multiple education and curriculum oversight committees. In her first year as an attending physician at MGH Dr. Allister received the outstanding teaching award from the MGH pediatric residency program.
