Jacob Hooker, PhD, of the Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging, and Ziv Williams, MD, of the Department of Neurosurgery, were honored by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy with the 2009 Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers. The awards are the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. government to science and engineering professionals in the early stages of their careers and provide research grants for up to five years.

Milton Kotelchuck, PhD, MPH, of the Center for Child and Adolescent Health Policy, is the recipient of the 2010 Martha May Eliot Award from the American Public Health Association. The award honors exceptional health service to mothers and children and is the highest national lifetime achievement award in the field of Maternal and Child Health. 

Margaret Johnson, of the Adolescent and Pediatric Medicine Unit at the Chelsea HealthCare Center, has received the Annual Community Service Award from Community Action Programs Inter-City, Inc. for her community work on behalf of the Adolescent and Pediatric Medicine Unit.

The MGH was ranked 17th in the third annual Top Places to Work survey by the Boston Globe. Employers were ranked in areas such as employee engagement and retention. This is the third consecutive year the MGH has been ranked in the Boston Globe list.
